Florida last day

On our last day in Florida we headed to Legoland.  It's a very cool place that deserves either 2 short days or at least one longer day, but during the Spring they close by 6pm, so we missed a few things.  The only thing we HAD to be sure to do was have the kiddos drive little Lego-cars, so we did that first thing!  

  

 

 

 Parker and Mimi signed up for programing classes, that was an unexpected, awesome thing.

  They also spent almost an hour building and racing Lego cars. 

There are tons of these amazing dioramas of cities or Star Wars scenes, we could have spent a long time looking at them, but we only had like 20 minutes!

LegoLand is where the Cypress Gardens used to be.  You could spend hours wondering through here!  It was breathtaking! 

In the morning we got up, packed the car and drove the 15 hours home.  Then I realized I forgot my wallet at the condo and we had to drive back!  Fortunately we are only 20 minutes away when I realized that...

If you are curious here is my biggest tips for going to Orlando:
-Go on low crowd days, there are whole websites dedicated to crowd calendars
-Most parks have apps that tell you wait times for rides, very useful!
-We did all the normal rides then set aside one day just for the wet rides
-Arrive 30 minutes before the parks open, for sure
-Some like staying on property, but we were told about an inexpensive condo just 1 mile from the parks.  It was so nice to save the $$ so we could spend it other places.

Quotable Saturday

Yoda is in our Saturn Ion that is parked in the Driveway.  He leans out the window and says, "Hi."

Valerie says, "Who are you saying 'hi' to?"

"I just hi-ing the orange cat."

I said, "whoa, it's 9:10 you can't read anymore.  You have to go to sleep."

Parker said "Nine-oh-eight, it is."

Old Floor/New Floor

Here's the old floor that covered the kitchen, entry hall (pictured above), eating area (pictured below), laundry room, and the 1/2 bathroom.  In total 444 square feet in our house. 

And here's the new floor.  Very similar, brownish, faux tile, vinyl flooring.  It took me weeks to scrape off the old stuff and it took the installers 8+ hours to put in the new stuff.  

Here's a close up.  Also this picture shows Yoda crushing Cheerios with a Han Solo action figure.

SOOO glad this part is over with.  Just a few more touch ups before we're done with the kitchen!

Hottest Day in Decades

How did you spend it?

Did you go to Cub Scout Day Camp?  ALL DAY LONG?  Did you get heat exhaustion?  Did you get so sick you could barely see straight?  And then on the way home throw up in the car in front of 2 cub scouts?  Umm, that's WHILE driving!  Then continue to throw up in the bushes and freak out your 3 children?

No?  Just me?  Huh.

Trick-Or-Treat Part Four: The 30th

First, Baby laughing at the church party, a.k.a. Trunk-Or-Treat.
Then some carnival games. Mimi was so talented at eating a doughnut off of a string, it was a cake walk.

Trick-Or-Treat Part One: The Costumes

First, Baby C as Yoda.

My wildly, talented sister knitted this darling Yoda hat for Baby C. We borrowed the robe from our kind neighbors.

Second, Mimi as a pink doggie and Indiana as Peter Parker.

Me:"What do you want to be for Halloween?"
Indiana:"Spider-man"
Me:"That's nice, but I don't like masks. what else would you like to be?"
Indiana:"Well, then, Peter Parker, before he was bit by a spider and became Spider-man "
Me:"Good idea"
