May so far...

May... it's hard to keep up, but it's nice to be busy!
Spring soccer for Yoda--he's the one up front by the ball without a Mohawk.

 Mother's Day
Spring concerts

(video)

Parker is one of two boys in the 7th grade choir, that's bold if you ask me.  His teacher is out on maternity leave--she often has them sing traditional folk songs and very cool and complicated foreign songs.  Her substitute had them sing some modern pop songs.  Although it may just be a thing they usually do for the Spring concert.

(I'll try to get the orchestra concert to load sometime...probably after May)

Field hockey in the off season is indoors to keep up their skills
A hike with Sonya, a perfect birthday day
 Yummy cake!

The House Button

Yoda had a great idea.  What if you could press a button and a robot would build you a new house. Awesome, right?

Yesterday morning Yoda gave Valerie the first step.  The button.

He took this picture. He told me to put it in a word document that said "Press this Button." He then demanded that I laminate it.

So Valerie got a laminated picture of the button that will tell the robot to build her a new house.

Complicated? Check.
Convoluted? Check.
Adorable? Check.

A few things that happened in May

Helmet and no bike, wearing pj's outside, and two different shoes...
Mimi singing with all her might.
Greg took the kiddos to the bakery and had them design my birthday cake, so cute and yum!
I asked Greg to sing me a song with his guitar for my birthday, it was awesome!

Mother's day breakfast in bed and pinking shears :)

My Mom

This blog was born to send photos and funny stories to my mom.  I'm happy for all my visitors, but today I want to send a special *hello* to my biggest fan!

Hi Mom!
I love you!

Mother's Day

For mother's day I got a nap and I dreamt of ice cream cake, when I woke up I got this:
Some dreams do come true. Also, what mother's day would be complete without a little BBQ dance?

My mom

I've learned way too much from my mom to list in totality, but as I was playing in my garden today, and because its Mother's Day, I just kept thinking about her. I know that sometimes when people go on and on about the affection they have for a loved one, it can sometimes be unimportant to the normal readers of public blogs, but since my mom was the reason for the birth of this blog, I decided I'm going to do it anyway.

Gardening
Pancakes
Sitting outside on a good day, and appreciating it.
Making birthdays special
Making art
Museums
Camping
Quilting
Crafting
Going to the city
Tomatoes
Being productive
Writing letters to mom (I'll never think of typewriters without thinking of my mom clacking away at a letter to her mom that lived so far away)

I could think of more, and I probably will...

I'll add:
Recycling
Sledding
but not the beach, I only go so that I can be with you guys:)

Happy Mother's Day

Superman is smiling, Greg is cooking, and Mimi's asleep, I'm happy.
