A long time ago Parker learned what an open-face sandwich is,but must have forgot how to say it.  So the other day when Yoda stole the top slice of bread from Parker's ham and cheese sandwich, he said:"I'll just eat it face-less."

It's official, Greg and I meet exactly 18 years ago today.  That means I've now known him exactly as 1/2 of my life!

Yoda is really into Monster Trucks right now.  He loves watching the History Channel documentary about them.

Here he is acting out a Monster Truck making a jump over some smaller cars--and singing "It's a Mighty Mega Monster Truck!"

 A few weeks after Mimi lost one of her top-front teeth we attended a birthday party where the cake was this awesome cantaloupe bunny.  She was told she could take a part of it.  She removed one of it's top-front teeth, so they could match.

Mimi is lop-sided in teeth she has lost, unlike Parker's very symmetrical tooth loss.   Just like most things, this girl is unpredictable :)

Suddenly I hear Parker from the family room and from behind the couch (where we keep extra pillows and blankets) :"She lost her tooth!"  And he meant it fell out and then got lost in piles of pillows and stuff.
Mimi:"I'm happy that I loozed it but I sad that I lost it."
Dad, a.k.a. the hero, found it without a moments delay!

More Camping this time in the back yard!

And with S'mores came more graham-cracker-discussion.  I didn't know the history of the graham cracker until I started thinking about summer snacks for the kiddos.  Why does the graham cracker seem like it should be healthy but then it has bad ingredients?  I found the Wikipedia article about the origins of graham crackers very cool.  It's sole existence was to create something healthy to eat.  Hmm....

I bought a bunch of different crackers and we've been tasting them.  So far the winner is the Cinnamon Graham crackers from Trader Joe's (lower right-hand corner of the above photo).  We all independently picked it.

Spring Break

I'm noticing all the Spring Break blog posts that other families are putting up and realizing that ours was a bit of a loss. All I really wanted to do was sit around watching TV and wearing pj's, but I thought my kiddos deserved more then that.  So I tried... a little.

Monday:

A quick hike around a local park.  Yoda was sad to leave and planted himself right there and wouldn't move.  Fortunately he's the kind of child that actually listens and starts running after you when you say, "ok, bye!", unlike Parker and Mimi when they were this age.  They would just give me a look that said:"yeah right, you wouldn't dare, hehe."

Then later that afternoon, after Yoda's nap, we headed to the zoo, we showed up at 4:30, it closes at 5, ugh. 

Tuesday:

The TV said perfect weather so we went to the zoo, again.  We had a great time, met up with daddy for lunch, then got SOAKED by a freak thunderstorm.  They were good sports about it though and they talked all about how great human skin is, that it protects us so well.  (my kiddos are so scientific) 

We even rode the zoo train.

Wednesday:
Since Yoda's nap was all messed up by the zoo on Tuesday, we decided to do the library in the am, and do something fun in the pm.  Haha.  He decided that a LONG nap was in order, he didn't wake up until most of the afternoon was over, ugh.  We played local, but Parker was excited to get new comic books from the teen section of the library.

Thursday:

Dentist, yes, during Spring Break.  I told you our Spring Break was a loss. 

Now it's Friday and guess what we're doing...pj's and TV--yeah!

Here's Mimi with one of the awesome Dinosaur gifts she got for her birthday. It's a block of plaster with plastic-dinosaur-bones embedded in it, and she has to chisel them out. Every now and then she makes a "discovery", which makes her shake her head and remove her goggles to take a closer look. It cracks me up.

The tooth update

Meet 'Earla', that's Mimi's balloon puppy from the dentist--it didn't last long. But the whistle is lasting longer then I'd like it to. Good report from Mimi's check up, but somehow even with Indiana's giant head, he doesn't have room for some of his grown up teeth to come it. Is a tooth pulling in his future? We'll find out in a few months, let's hope not.
Due to popular demand, or just a polite request from my dear friend Kimberly (I simply couldn't refuse her), here is the update on the tooth loss of my 6-yr-old.
Indiana lost both his bottom front teeth in Dec., but we had to wait a full 7 months for the next big event. I eluded to his loose teeth in my Cape May post, but mostly focused on his puffy face. That was a tricky week, we were busy at the beach, and busy trying to figure out what the heck was up with his face! Somewhere in that week, he wiggled one tooth free, and the tooth fairy found him without even a worry on Indi's part. Then, frankly, since so many strange things were happening to his face that week, and I couldn't look at that tooth at weird angles anymore, I took matters in my own hands and brushed that pearly-white out. It was gentle and he didn't notice it was out until it was floating among the tooth paste in his mouth. But it surprised him a little and he still talks about it often. So now for his school pictures NEXT WEEK he will have the adorable toothless grin.
