Achoo

As we drove past a church with stained glass windows (ours doesn't have any), Indiana asked? "Why are the pictures made of glass?"

Greg *sneeze*, "Mimi, will you get me a Kleenex?"
Mimi:"uh, SURE!"
Runs to the toy room, and returns with this

(apologies to those who have heard this story recently, it was far too funny not to retell)

checking the score

Polka dot comes out of nowhere to take the lead:3! This girl LOVES polka dots! Again, how can I blame her? I also love them. Here I am in the early 90's happily wearing them. Now I just wish I had photo proof like this of the pair of stretch, polka dot pants that I wore in high school...

Last Days of School

Indiana's class singing a summer song, here they show their interpretation of the sun:)
Reader's theater: almost an hour of plays preformed by Kindergartners, there wasn't a dry eye in the house--all the proud parents! We were told to help them practice their lines with expression. Here Indiana says his part:"Why?" Look at that expression in his face! He even bowed at the end of his play, the only one of the whole class. This kid likes an audience.

All year I've wanted to take a picture of Indiana stepping off the bus. He takes the bus this year because he's in Kindergarten, but from now on he'll walk since we live so close to school. I finally got out the camera on the second to last day of school and this is what I got. In the age of the digital camera, there is just no excuse for this bad of a picture! The last day of school was far too emotional so I couldn't get a better picture.
Random rose in our front yard. When we moved in I was sick of tripping over the rose bushes so I cut them back and let weeds grow all over them. For all the time I spend in my garden, I spend very LITTLE time in the flower bed. I didn't expect too much, but I never know.

Birds

Mimi spent at least an hour painting this bird house and when it was done she ran outside hoping to see birds flocking to it. An hour!

New Crop

The peas are coming in. Is it weird that we have a garden? All our neighbors say things like:"We had one once, but now we have shrubs", or "Are things really growing?"

Plumbing

Since I can't provide the photo that I mentioned earlier, I thought I'd share these photos.Currently we have broken sink, and while I was taking pictures of the mess to email to Greg at work to show him the fun he's missing, suddenly...
...there's Mimi!

misunderstanding

While a neighbor was over playing Legos, this is what I heard:
Indiana:"This guy can transform into an evil copy-maker"
Friend:"What? A coffee maker?"

While looking at the world map, I was pointing to continents and naming them for Mimi, South America, Africa, etc. I failed to mention the name for one of them, so she pointed to it and asked:"what's this 'ICA'?"

We were being silly, and I was pretending to be surprised at Indiana's quickness at getting dressed one morning:"Wow! Indi is all dressed!"
Greg, continuing the silliness:"Is it a gorilla outfit?"
Mimi, was not following our joke:"No! It a BOY one!"

I put a little too much cinnamon in the oatmeal this morning, Indiana, flatly:"My tongue is like burning."

While at the park, a group of walkers asked me to take a picture of them with their camera. As I set up the shot, suddenly there was Mimi in the middle of them with a BIG smile. (They were good sports about it)

Trip to Utah: Fun with Cousins

We had lots of fun with cousins at the wedding:
Return of the Star Wars puppets. I packed a bag of tricks for the day of the wedding, these were a big hit during the fancy lunch.
Trying to stay hydrated in the desert. The "four cousins on chairs" song--written and performed by Greg.

We also had lots of fun in Denver on our way home:
Indiana is looking at his hand friend, a bunch of the kids a school all have them...

It's so cute to see how kids just click with cousins, even though it's been months or years since they have seen them.

(It has taken me so long to get these pictures uploaded, because I first had to take the time to correct all those DARN red-eyes! But now I know that most of our family suffers from the same problem, it's not just us.)

Trip to Utah: The Wedding

When Greg's brother told us he was getting married in Saint George, UT, we drew a line between us and the wedding and envisioned a road trip to see family! Heather and Allen did a great job, everything was beautiful.
Outside the temple to take pictures, Mimi was pretty mad that she was not the center of attention, and did her best to get as much of it as she could--she threw many fits. After the wedding there was a fancy lunch.
Mimi was pretty darn tired, she eventually ended up under the table on the floor......other cousins followed her, she's such a bad example. But at least they were mostly quiet:)

The reception was gorgeous! All Mimi wanted to do was throw rocks in the lake, again, a bad example for the rest of the cousins.

And all the dancing.
Mimi was pretty happy to match the cake.
