Inside

On the first day of social distancing, it snowed.  We made a list of goals to keep ourselves busy. (We're counting March 14th as the first day.)

There are oodles of lists out there of things to do to keep from going nuts.  One thing we saw was to learn something as a family.  For Mimi's birthday Sonya gave her a puzzle with pictures and this big sheet of bios of great American Sufferists.  (She already did the puzzle long ago.)  So each day we are reading about 2 of them.  It's been pretty interesting!  That should get us through about 3 weeks.  

Another day, this was the bread aisle, so I made bread. It kinda rose funny in the oven and exploded from underneath. Eek!

Science Fair

Last month Mimi participated in the science fair.

Her and her partner did all sorts of tests to discover which paper towels were the best.  They even decorated their poster with flowers made from paper towels.  She had a blast, but came home so tired. 

Breaking the ice

It was a warmish day and no one had plans for an hour or so, so we hauled everyone to the park.  They pretended to be upset, but then there was all this ice to play with.

Another Swing

Yoda wanted to show how far he can jump off a swing!

Mimi loves this swing.

We could get home late from something and she'll sweetly ask, "but can a swing just for a little while?"  It could be very cold and she'll bundle up to get outside and swing.  If we can't find her in the house, we can find her in the yard.  More then one neighbor has commented on how cute it is. 

Math Help

I couldn't help but love this moment.  Parker jumped in to help Yoda with his math homework :)

Mimi is trying out for a play today!  She asked Parker to help her rehearse.

I was so confused why I could only hear Parker but not Mimi.  Here she is trying out for the role of the mute King so she was trying to be very expressive, but also silent! 

Wasp

For months, Yoda and I would would track the progress of these wasps building their "home".

Then the wasps kinda disappeared. 

And then there was a huge rain/wind storm and it all fell apart and this is how it looked. 

Yoda, "Are the wasps doing home renovations?"

One day while picking up Parker from school I came around a corner to see this...

Totally came out of nowhere!

(This was not the moment it happened.  I made him do it again so I could get it on video.  But this is very similar to what happened the first time.) 

Another day we were all there for something and I encouraged all kids to try it.  Mimi was into it, Yoda was NOT! (he's standing on Greg's knee or something in the photo below)

4th Grade Choir Concert

Yoda was in the 4th Grade Choir Concert last month, he was very excited about it this year.

 

There he is right in the middle looking all dapper.  (It was also his 10th birthday and he had just received that hat he'd wanted for a while!)

 We thought it would be funny re-live a moment from a 4th Grade Choir Concert of a few years ago...

Time Lapse Christmas

Thought it would be funny to film us opening presents, but in time-lapse mode!

So here's like 20 minutes of us unwrapping presents, but jammed into less then 2 minutes.  Right at the end we give the camera a wave :)
