All the Games

On our list of things to do before we're back to normal, we wanted to play all the games in our game cupboard.  We've played quite a few and we're not even close to playing them all!

 Monopoly

Istanbul (not Constantinople)

 Dragon-ball Dice game

Stratego and Trash (with Harry Potter face cards)

 Eldritch Horror

A switch game with a friend, connected over the internet, while talking to them in a zoom meeting--Bananas!

Googly Eyes (it's like Pictionary, but you have to wear these glasses that make things look crazy)

And Sorry

Games played over Zoom or Skype: Yu-Gi-Oh!, Headbands, Pictionary, Tic-Tac-Toe, Guess Who (Star Wars and other kinds), Jackbox...

Also: Set, Karma, Hulabaloo, Ticket to Ride, Mastermind, City Square Off, Clue, Rummikub, Guesstures, Perfection, Fluxx, Blokus, B.S., The States Game, Headbands, 7 Wonders, Chess ...

School at Home

We've made adjustments here and there, trying to make it work...

We moved the kitchen table into the office for more work space, but of course they move around the house.
 Like to the couch.
Or the new kitchen table for 8th grade science.
Or the living room cause the couch is more comfortable.
Yoda has to cook or bake occasionally for his grade.

Fly a Kite

Found two good things about this isolation thing: time to fly a kite & empty parks to fly a kite.

Easter

Like most people, we kept Easter pretty calm.  Lots of video chatting, candy and like some of our neighbors, we grilled.  (We could smell it all over the neighborhood)

Inside part 3

We all made a list of things we want to have done by the time we are allowed to be free again.

Yoda wants to run a mile everyday, but sometimes the weather doesn't allow for that, so he runs on the elliptical.
I wanted the kiddos to be more creative, so I make them draw with internet tutorials.
 I made English Muffins!
We have to go for hikes when the weather is good...
 St. Patrick's Day Shamrock Shakes

More Inside

Being indoors is interesting, fortunately we like each other!

Here is some stuff we've been doing to keep busy...
Remote learning
 More remote learning
Learning to cook stuff, this is Welsh Rarebit Breakfast
Oobleck- it's a liquid, it's a solid!
More puzzles

Inside

On the first day of social distancing, it snowed.  We made a list of goals to keep ourselves busy. (We're counting March 14th as the first day.)
There are oodles of lists out there of things to do to keep from going nuts.  One thing we saw was to learn something as a family.  For Mimi's birthday Sonya gave her a puzzle with pictures and this big sheet of bios of great American Sufferists.  (She already did the puzzle long ago.)  So each day we are reading about 2 of them.  It's been pretty interesting!  That should get us through about 3 weeks.

Another day, this was the bread aisle, so I made bread. It kinda rose funny in the oven and exploded from underneath. Eek!

Science Fair

Last month Mimi participated in the science fair.
Her and her partner did all sorts of tests to discover which paper towels were the best.  They even decorated their poster with flowers made from paper towels.  She had a blast, but came home so tired.

Breaking the ice

It was a warmish day and no one had plans for an hour or so, so we hauled everyone to the park.  They pretended to be upset, but then there was all this ice to play with.

Another Swing

Yoda wanted to show how far he can jump off a swing!
