Utah trip

I was talking to a neighbor, she said she has had one family reunion in all her grown up life.  I feel like I've had at least one a year.  This year it was my dad's siblings getting together, the last time that happened I was a newlywed!  

So we headed to Moab and here's a few photos of the kiddos enjoying the sunshine and time with family.

 

 

 

During the drive we saw Jim Gaffigan's tour bus van at a truck stop, that was a fun surprise :)

When we got home there was our popcorn of the month waiting for us! 

The best little detour

We headed West again this summer and on the way home we went to see my brand-new nephew!

More details on the trip later, school starts soon and there's LOTS to do! 

Hair cuts and table rehab

This is by far the longest Parker's hair has grown.  We headed to the hair-cut-store to get a trim. 

I think I expected something more dramatic, but the hair-cutter didn't seem ready to cut all his hair off, just trimmed it a bit.  And Parker was happy to keep some length the time around. 

 Yoda's hair was pretty long too...

 

 Ahh... so much better :)

A few years ago I bought this sweet table on Craig's list.  It looked absolutely perfect except this ugly top.   For years I planned to strip/stain/restore the top, but I did nothing at all. 

Then one night I got a little curious...a few episodes of Friends later, along with soap, water and a scrub brush I have this fantastic table!!!  It's a laminate top rather then a wood finish.  No strip/stain/restore required!  Now it's right by the front door along with the awesome chair. 

Summer Track

Mimi joined Parker in track this summer...
they both had fun and learned a lot about what they are capable of doing, even when it's hot and they are tired.

Girl Scout Day Camp

This summer Mimi spent a week at Girl Scout Day Camp and I went along as a unit leader. We had lots of fun. Here's a few highlights...

Anytime I turned around Mimi was singing songs with the girls.

Slow July

I've taken almost no pictures this month.  It's so dark and rainy, I'm behaving like it's winter.  (I've realized I take very few photos in the dreary winter)

So here's the few photos from July

 I finally found some good outdoor furniture for us.  The kiddos were so excited to use it, it wasn't even unwrapped all the way.

 Fireworks on the 4th.  We kidnapped some neighbors to come along.  They brought along some candy. 

Yoda was so chilly by the end of it!
