Happy Groundhog's Day

I spun Mimi around and when we both felt a little dizzy, I steadied myself on to the table, but Mimi ran to the wall:"I stop the house"
me:"from spinning?"
Mimi:"Yup!"

Indi:"I had a dream I used the force. Then I woke up and tried to use the force, but it didn't work."

Mimi:"This is 'stopper' and this is 'goer'."
me-no idea
Then while I was changing her diaper later she pointed to my feet and asked:"What are your dogs called? Mine are 'stopper' and 'goer'."

Mimi talking for her hands, about a spoon.
Left hand:" MINE!"
Right hand:"MINE!"
Left hand:"Take turns!"
Right hand:"Take turns? With the spoon?"
Left hand:"Thanks for taking turns"

Dis id DUN!

Mimi:"[This is FUN!]"

We don't have a sledding hill in our yard here, so we built our own.

They go much faster when they go together, but since I have to hold the sled while they pile on, I couldn't get footage of it. I'll try tomorrow when Greg is home, since apparently there is no end to snow or freezing temperatures here.

I will take a cold and snowy winter over a hot and muggy summer ANYTIME, yet I will be happy to see my lilacs in bloom. I just shoveled past them, they are 1/2 covered in snow...

I rarely read or get this comic, but it pretty much hit the nail on the head for me this week.

Public Transportation?

For the first time in 9+ years Greg drives to work. I'd like to say that it's been our priority to be somewhere with public transportation, but mostly it's been luck. In Utah he walked or took the bus. In Western Mass he took the FREE public bus (for the most part, Socialism works in Massachusetts). For our 5 years in the Boston area he took a free shuttle bus, then a public bus, and then --my favorite-- the purple train. I never had to worry when it was snowy, but you know me, I did anyway. Now he drives the 8 miles (special thanks to his mom and dad for his car) and I worry everyday. He told me that if he didn't like his job he wouldn't work so hard to get there, so that's a good thing, right?

The best thing I did lately was buy Mimi and Indiana their own shovels. They really get into shoveling. We go out 3 or 4 times a storm and they work hard to clear the driveway. Sometimes we have to call back Indi who is 4 houses away, clearing the sidewalks. If it's just snow, Indi can clear as much as me. There was too much ice today and he got tired out quickly.

Politically Neutral

I thought maybe we would be welcoming in a phone and internet service at the same time we welcomed in our new president, but alas, as most things with this move, it is not going smoothly.

Here are the sights and sounds while we watched the inauguration:Indiana:"I love getting new Presidents. Can I have some more peanuts?"

Mimi:"B wok Oh Bama! B wok Oh Bama! I'm Grievous!" (see below) That's a flashlight a.k.a. light saber in her hand, and she's isn't smiling, she is making the sound of a light saber opening.

Communist Undertones

There are a million reasons I love Sesame Street. The other day added 3 more. Jack Black, a play on Indiana Jones (with Texas Telly, Montana Mel, and my favorite--Virgina Virgina), and this song. Mimi was so into it.

It's really soft here, but if you want to see what Mimi saw click here. Or if you want the real song.

For some reason I like SS more now then when I was a kid. Hmm, what does THAT say about me?

What's your favorite Sesame Street moment? New or old.

bells

We have also heard a lot of this lately.

But when I tried to put it on the cd player today, mimi said:"I don't want jingle bells! It not Christmas, it just home"

It's a Trap!

Everyone played on youtube this Saturday, we have not heard the end of this from Mimi and Indi. You may think it's brain washing, and you would be right.

While we found the princess in Mimi's room, Greg and Indi read in the other room from a comic book version on the Star Wars trilogy.

the basket makes another appearance

Mimi:"I a wobot, I a wobot" [I-am-a-robot, I-am-a-robot]
Granddad hard at work changing one of the 100's of outlets in the house.
(If you look close, on the counter, you can see the PILE of plugs and switches that dad and Greg replaced)
