100 day

This last week Indiana celebrated the 100th day of school. Indiana, like most kindergartners, was assigned to bring 100 things to school to celebrate. Suggestions included paper clips, pennies, etc. Indiana picked mommy's collection as he calls it. He counted by 10's to get 100 items.

The next day he came home telling me about a sixth grader that took one other kindergartner's 100 day package of toothpicks. I was outraged! He and I talked all about how wrong that was, and that when he's a sixth grader he will be nice to little kids. Turns out that the older kid only took 2 or 3 of the toothpicks.

Indiana-reading this post over my shoulder:" '100 day of school.' Put an exclamation point at the end of that. How do make an exclamation point?"

I've received flowers in the past for Pi day (March 14th, get it? 3.14)--ah, my math nerd. But today I did Greg one better, I found out it was square root day and I made him root vegetables that were cut into squares.

Rockwell and Sonya

Sonya came to visit during Mimi's birthday.

I made her go with me to this exhibit, I wanted to go, but I didn't feel like I could do it on my own. At the Ohio Historical Center they have an exhibit where someone has made life-sized reproductions of some the favorites of Norman Rockwell.

Valentine's

Indiana was so happy to see us come to the school for his class's Valentine's Day party. The class mother was kind enough to share the treats with Mimi.

Continent Song

One very good thing about our move is Indiana's school, we are so pleased. We found him singing this song today that he learned at school and Mimi was dancing along.

I don't know if he got the words or the tune right to the song, he did get the continents right. "North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa. Don't forget Australia, don't forget Antarctica *OUH!*" (Mimi stepped on his foot with her church shoes--she didn't even notice.) "There are 7 continents."
