my mom is very cool and accepting of most of the weird things I did in high school including when I colored my hair pink, green or purple or when I cut it in the middle of the night, or when I squeezed 9 kids into our tiny Honda.

I called Chess that as a joke once, but it caught on and now it's pretty much what we call it.
Greg introduces chess whenever possible. Indiana eats it up. Mimi likes to get in on the action as well.

Mimi Turns FOUR!

Waffles and a Tyrannosaurs cake were her choice.
Me:"Do you mean like waffles that we mix and cook or the kind at the store?"
Mimi:"No, the kind from the freezer!"
Me:"You bet!"

Since dinner was a snap, I focused on the cake. Here's my attempt...hmmm...maybe I should have focused on something else. But since most of it was made with one hand (the other holding Baby C), it's not so bad. In this picture Mimi is pointing out his 'hypothesis'. (If you care to know, let me explain, there is no part of the T-rex called the 'hypothesis', it's simply a word that she learned on the the pbs kids show Dinosaur Train and she thinks it's the blue part of her favorite dinosaur named Buddy. This is also the dinosaur that she named Baby C after. Anytime someone asks what our baby is named, she interrupts us and says Baby C's name is Buddy.)

She got lots of great presents, all things she loves, but by popular demand, here she is with her new camera! I had a fisher-price camera built to withstand a clumsy child's hands when I was little, but it had 110 film, her camera is digital!

He was on the wall for our pin-the-tail-on-the-dinosaur game (remember my fill-in-the-blank birthday party idea? It works for dinosaurs too!)

ipod

I never bothered setting the pass-code on my ipod, so the other day Mimi set it for me-trouble.

I went to Best Buy to have them help me and they just laughed and said "what ninja did this to you? Won't she just tell you what she set it for?"

Me:"She's four, when I asked her what numbers she pressed, she said 'I pressed a lot of them 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7...' and ran away" The geek sqad was laughing pretty hard.

I've never been one to nest when I'm about to have a baby. (And considering that I was not even dilated at 41 weeks tells me that my body wasn't even ready to have the baby.) So I'm not a nester, that would explain why I was setting up the room for Baby C today, when he's already 2 months old! While I was carrying book after book out of the guest room that would soon be his I thought to myself: "Man! We have a lot of books!" and what was the last book I carried out? This one:
