Halloween 2012 part ONE

Mimi is gearing up for Halloween.  When asked what she is going to be for Halloween, she says:"I''m the Queen of Halloween!"  She is taking this role very seriously...take this story for example...

But first a little history, Parker loves the color red and always has.  When given the choice Parker often picks red--cup, shoes, hats, etc.

So when we go to the dentist, I know Parker will always pick the red toothbrush and I guide the other kiddos to pick a different color so the brushes won't get mixed up.

Mimi messed up my routine this week when she picked a red toothbrush.  When I questioned her about it, this was her response:"What? It's the the color of blood!"
Me*what?!*

Parker's Pet

10.24.12

If I had any pet it would be big. My

pet would be named Kingie.

He would have a big main. The

pet would also eat strangers and

criminals. It would be in a huge

cage. My pet would growl and roar.

I would feed it with enormous stake.

Those are some of the clues of my

pet.

Parker wrote this and I was so proud.  He hasn't enjoyed writing much, but he works with some amazing people at school that helped him get to this point.  The boy has ideas, it's just tough to get them on paper.  We don't have a pet, and I think the kiddos are starting to resent it :)

Dancing and Fighting

Me:"What's the sound?"
Yoda:"I just dancing to the rock star song."
 __________

Yoda has been pretty interested in the Power Rangers lately

It's pretty funny when he acts it out.

body

While I was clipping Yoda's finger nails, he asked / yelled: "what about my foots!?"

While asking Yoda to put on his shoes he told me he didn't want shoes on :"Just my foots!"

While he was *ahem* picking his nose, he told me :"There's something in there." and "I want to get the goopy out!"

Parker and Mimi have discovered Heathcliff comics.
Occasionally the GoodYear blimp flies over our house, one of the perks of living so close to a crazy large university with a football team.
Here the kiddos are yelling :"BLIMP!  BLIMP!  BLIMP!" but you can hardly hear it because the blimp is SO loud.

Shoot-O-Ree

Each year our boy scout council has a day of shooting things.  This year we decided to go--lots of fun.

The theme was the Wild West, and it started with some photo-ops

Waiting for Parker and Mimi to be all done with the safety talk.
Nerf Crossbows to get them started.

Lots of little guns and shooters and balls to throw.

They waited in line for almost an hour to shoot some arrows and LOVED IT!

 Next up BB guns.

Mimi and Parker with some special helpers from the University's rifle team.
One lady found us later on and called Mimi "Annie Oakley"
Sling shots.

So fun.

Superman Flies Again

Yoda:"I need a super cape!"
and once he had it on, he ran to play with Mimi and Parker and yelled:"Just me, Superman!"

This is the first time he really got excited about wearing a cape and it was crazy-cute!  It made me think of Parker back in 2007 and Halloween in 2007

Yoda goes to preschool

So there's a pre-preschool at Mimi's old preschool.  I decided that Yoda might be bored at home with just me, so I signed him up.  For the top picture I said:"Smile for your first day of school!" and this was the result=feeling a little unsure.
But for this second picture I said:"smile for daddy!"

Just if you're curious, he didn't sit in circle time, clean up any toys, line up, wear his name tag, or talk to any of his teachers--all things that all the other children did perfectly.  He did sing the songs during singing time, but only from across the room.

(I know all this because parents attend the first day of school with their children.)

The second day the teachers said he did great, I think they are just good liars :)

face

Mimi, pointing to different teeth in her mouth:"This is a baby tooth, this is a grown-up tooth.  And this [pointing to a tooth just starting to come in] is a teenager tooth!"

__________

A long time ago Parker learned what an open-face sandwich is,but must have forgot how to say it.  So the other day when Yoda stole the top slice of bread from Parker's ham and cheese sandwich, he said:"I'll just eat it face-less."

__________

It's official, Greg and I meet exactly 18 years ago today.  That means I've now known him exactly as 1/2 of my life!
__________

Yoda is really into Monster Trucks right now.  He loves watching the History Channel documentary about them.

Here he is acting out a Monster Truck making a jump over some smaller cars--and singing "It's a Mighty Mega Monster Truck!"

*Sorry for the squeaky sound from the camera*
__________

Have a great week!

Rascally Rabbit

One night Valerie came home from the store. When she opened the garage door she saw a rabbit staring back at her. From inside the garage.

Greg came out and they went through the garage one square foot at a time. Moving our stuff and looking for rabbits. He finally found the rabbit and saw it run away.

Or so he thought.....

Later that night Valerie and Greg went into the garage to find some tools.  Valerie noticed a bit of dark fluff among the white paint rollers.

The rabbit was hiding like a Kindergartener.  Front end hidden and back end not so much.

We left the occupied paint roller out in the front yard, shut the garage door and turned off the porch light.  In the next hour, the rabbit joined his friends.
